My name is Cole Hersey (he/him). I am a freelance journalist, writer, and illustrator based in Oakland, with    featured journalism pieces in the Wales Arts Review, North Bay Bohemian, Bay Nature, Earth Island Journal, and elsewhere. I have edited for publications such as Poetry Flash, West Marin Review, Quiet Lightning, and Earth Island Journal.  My fiction and poetry has appeared in literary magazines across the country and abroad, such as Parenthesis.

My illustrations have been used and exhibited throughout California, in spaces such as Bartavelle Coffee and Wine Bar and Gospel Flats Farmstand in Bolinas, California. For an example of my web design work, feel free to visit the portfolio of Peter Munselle here

Anne Lamott has said of my writing, 'Cole Hersey is the real thing, a beautiful and observant writer on his way up. His writing is clear and evocative, visual and touching, with just a bit of edge, and a lot of soul.’ This chapbook I want to send to you today is a hybrid work of experimental prose.

Aside from my writing and illustration work, I am currently in the process of seeking publication of a climate-anxiety novel titled This Heat.
